Fall Prevention – Home Safety Modifications

Meals on Wheels Diablo Region – Home Safety Modifications are provided free of charge to prevent falls for seniors 60 or older. An occupational therapist does an in-home assessment and a contractor completes the work. These are not emergency services. https://www.mowdiabloregion.org

Fall Prevention Education Classes

Meals on Wheels Diablo Region – Fall Prevention Education Classes are provided at different locations throughout Contra Costa. These classes help teach techniques for preventing falls and increasing safety for older adults in the home. https://www.mowdiabloregion.org

Elder Abuse Prevention

Elder Abuse Prevention Project is an alliance to end abuse in Contra Costa. The alliance includes Contra Costa Health Services, Family Justice Center, Contra Costa County Employment & Human Services, Contra Costa Senior Legal Services, Empowered Aging, Meals on Wheels Diablo Region, and the District Attorney of Contra Costa County.

Emergency Preparedness

Ready Contra Costa – In the summer weather brings new threats for Contra Costa County, like wildfire, smoke, extreme heat, and power outages. In the winter it is important to prepare and keep your loved ones safe for winter storms.
