Welcome to the 411 for Elders in Contra Costa County, a website inspired by my colleagues in ACOA (Advisory Council on Aging).
Our vision was to make life easier and more enjoyable for older adults and their supporters by organizing resources from trusted, local, non-profit organizations in a user-friendly format. (Unfortunately, there are restriction on ACOA’s county host site that would make this website way less useful, so I created an unaffiliated one.)
When my mother was thinking about moving in with us in San Ramon after my dad passed away, I wanted to see if resources were available for her to do on her own and others that we could do together, as I’m an elder too. I wished the resources had been organized by categories instead of being buried on multiple websites of various organizations. I hope you will find this useful too.
Resources are organized as follows:
Health & Safety | Technology | Learning & Leisure | Housing & Transportation | Getting Involved | Kudos
Contra Costa County is a great place to be an older adult! Together we can make it even better. Please get involved as you’re comfortable by checking out opportunities on each page.
